A bandh was observed in Sambalpur town yesterday following a call by the District Bar Association seeking dismissal of Darswal for her alleged high-handedness. The IAS Officers’ Association, on the other hand, has sought action against all those involved in abuse of Sambalpur Collector and attack on her residential office.

“The lawyers illegally confined me in the bus and even tried to take me away. They abused me in filthy language and ransacked my residential office,” Darswal had alleged. Meanwhile, a team of Crime Branch police arrived here and started its probe into the incident, two days after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik ordered a crime branch inquiry into the incident.
