Farmers allege irregularities in paddy procurement because of some middle men came in between farmer and the cooperative society. Some middle men purchase paddy from the genuine farmer at cheap price and register themselves as a farmer in front of cooperative society and sell the paddy at higher price.

Bamra Bandh for 12 hours in Sambalpur. Normal life has come to a standstill in Bamra town of the district today following a 12-hour bandh call by Railway Kriyanusthana Committee (RKC) demanding halt of three express trains at the station. According to reports, vehicular movement and rail services have been severely affected in the town.
