Sambalpur Railway Division decides to resume train services

Sambalpur Railway StationSambalpur Railway Division decided to restore the round-way services of Rourkela-Koraput Express temporarily on tri-weekly basis from Sunday. Rourkela-Koraput Express will leave Rourkela every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday from Sunday while it will leave Koraput every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Similarly, the services of Visakhapatnam-Durg passenger will be restored temporarily on tri-weekly basis till March 31 for both ways. The Visakhapatnam -Durg Passenger will leave Visakhapatnam every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday from Tuesday. The Durg -Visakhapatnam passenger will depart from Durg every Wednesday, Saturday and Monday from Wednesday onwards.

Both the trains will run according to the scheduled timings, stoppages and composition as notified in the time-table. The services of the trains were suspended after the Railway Bridge on Nagavali river was washed away due to flood near Theruvali in Rayagada district on July 16, last year.

Attack to RPF Inspector by Iron Rod in Titlagarh

RPF Sushil Pathak attacked Titilagarh

RPF inspector Sushil Pathak was attacked by three masked miscreants with an iron rod and he was injured seriously on the head. This was happend in late Saturday night while he was returning from duty.

Pathak was rescued and admitted to the Titilagarh sub-division hospital where he had to undergo at least 35 stitches on his head. After preliminary treatment, doctors referred him to the Divisional Railway hospital in Sambalpur for further treatment as his condition worsened.

Preliminary investigation revealed that three masked miscreants armed with iron rods carried out the attack. The police have not yet identified the three. The Government Railway Police (GRP) registered a case as per a complaint by Pathak and have launched a manhunt to nab the criminals.

Pathak is engaged at the RPF office in Titilagarh railway station. The incident occurred while he was returning to his Railway Colony residence late Saturday night. Meanwhile, the three masked miscreants, believed to be waiting for him, attacked him with iron rods.

A biker who happened to pass by came to Pathak’s help after hearing his screams. Later, with the help of neighbours and RPF officials, Pathak was taken to the sub-divisional hospital.

In his complaint, Pathak accused a person named Prasant Suna for threatening him over previous enmity. “Investigation is on and we will arrest the criminals soon,” GRP officer Mohan Nayak and Town police IIC Bijayanand Karkara said

Speed trial on Godbhaga-Debahal new double railway line

Speed trial on Godbhaga-Debahal new double railway lineToday 23rd Jan 2018, the speed trial on the new double railway lines between Godbhaga-Debahal station of sambalpur  division will be conducted by the Commissioner of Railway safety,  Pramod Kumar Achary in betweeen 9AM to 5PM.

Its a request from railway to the general public that not go near or cross the railway line on the specified time.

Railway conduct mock drill at lapanga

railway mock drillIn a bid to check preparedness of railway staff in case of train accidents, a mock drill exercise was conducted by Sambalpur Railway Division at Lapanga Railway Stationon Friday.

Various rescue, fire fighting and passenger techniques were demonstrated in the drill to prevent loss of life during railway accidents. The drill was carried out with participation of Police, ODRAF, NDRF, local hospitals and NGOs.

Besides, the fire personnel also demonstrated the various modes of rescue operations during fire accidents.
