IIM Sambalpur welcomes its first batch
Most of the students of newly opened IIM at Sambalpur are either B Tech or M Tech. Most of them were working in reputed companies across the country. While a few left their jobs others are on study leave, informed the IIM authorities here.
“Out of total 49 students, 43 of them are from the engineering background,” informed Prof. Pawan Singh. Similarly, out of the total 49 students, 26 are from the general category, 16 are backward caste (OBC), six from SC and only one from the ST category. Out of the 26 general category students, 24 are engineers. Among the 16 OBC students, 15 are engineers. The first day of the students memorable and hectic at the same time.
“We are satisfied with the faculty and their teaching techniques,” iterated most of the students including one Protyosh Mahajan from Maharastra.
Some students complained about the internet access around the campus. “The campus will soon be provided with wi-fi facility to find solution to the problem,” Singh, the coordinator informed.
Similarly, the library and other facilities for the students will be developed at par with other IIMs of the country, he said
