3 Killed, 6 Hurt in Road Mishap
Three persons including two girls died on the spot when a sand-laden truck rammed into an auto-rickshaw at Bhalupali Chowk in the outskirts of the town on SH-10 connecting Sambalpur-Rourkela SH under Ainthapali police limits on Monday.
Two of the six persons injured in the accident have been shifted to VSS Medical at Burla as their condition deteriorated. The driver of the truck managed to flee.
The two deceased are Namita Kerketa (17) and her sister Kranti Kerketa (15) of Bhutapada in Sambalpur town while the third person is yet to be identified.
Reports said the auto-rickshaw carrying seven persons was on its way to Sambalpur town from Rengali when the truck came from opposite direction and rammed into it before hitting a motorcycle and overturning on the spot.
